Ezekiel and Elsie Robuck (Roebuck) lived on Honey Island situated on the Yazoo River in the old Chahta Nation of Mississippi during the early 1800s. Family lore tells of Elsie having a flock of geese and Ezekiel known as the Honey King for his apiary. He advocated for mission schools for their children William, Benjamin, and baby Anna. Ezekiel died on the Trail of Tears. After burial, grieving Elsie and children went on to make a new life in Indian Territory.
